About the Author
Hi! I’m T. Allen Sharp (there are some who call me … Tim). I’m a Kansas-born writer with a passion for science and the stars. You may find me gazing through my telescope at the sky above or trekking the trails of my native state, seeking answers that lie beyond the next curve.
I received my bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas and spent my 35-year career as an editor at several media organizations, including The New York Times, the Des Moines Register, the Tampa Bay Times, the Hazelden Foundation, and Space.com. Now retired, I enjoy traveling, sharing food and wine with friends, and writing my own stories. I also work part-time at Round Table Bookstore in Topeka, Kansas.
I have been on the boards of several LGBTQ+ rights organizations, and I continue to fight for justice and affirmation. I have a keen interest in jazz, and I play the saxophone with a local band. I enjoy researching my ancestry, and I have traced my roots to Scotland, England, France, and Germany. My husband and I live in Topeka with our miniature Schnauzer puppy, Doozie, who keeps us on our toes.
My first novel, The Summer of Falling Stars, comes out soon. It’s the story of a boy who wishes upon a star for something extraordinary to happen. During the summer before entering junior high school, he discovers secrets about his hometown, his mother, his best friend, and himself.
